FAQ

We're new, so some answers below are specs rather than war stories. If your question isn't here, email info@keefigures.com — a real person reads it.

What are these keycaps made of?

It depends on the product, and we label it on every listing. Our novelty caps are cast resin; profile sets are PBT or doubleshot ABS. The product page states the exact material — we don't lump them together.

Will these fit my keyboard?

Our caps use an MX (+) cross stem, which fits standard MX-style switches — Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, and most hotswap and soldered boards. Pull one of your current caps: if the stem is a small +, you're compatible. They do not fit Topre, Kailh Choc / low-profile, or Alps boards. Every product lists the stem and the key position it's shaped for.

What profile and row are they?

We list the profile (Cherry, OEM, SA, XDA, DSA) on every product because it decides whether a cap sits flush. Sculpted profiles (Cherry/OEM/SA) are shaped per row, so we note the intended row; uniform profiles (XDA/DSA) drop in anywhere. If you want one cap that fits any position, pick a uniform-profile cap.

What size is it?

Sizes are in units (u). A standard single key is 1u. Larger keys: Backspace 2u, ANSI Enter 2.25u, right Shift 2.75u, spacebars 6.25u or 7u. Check the size on the product page against the slot on your board.

Are they shine-through / backlit?

Only if the product says so. Most cast resin caps are opaque accent caps; some translucent "jelly" designs let light bleed through as a diffuse glow rather than a crisp backlit legend. If shine-through matters to you, check the listing or ask first.

Where do these ship from and how long does it take?

Depends on the item. In-stock caps ship from Brooklyn in 2–5 business days; made-to-order and pre-order caps ship from our overseas makers and take about 2–4 weeks. Each product says which it is. Full details on our Shipping page.

Why are prices in USD?

We're a US-based shop, so we price in USD.

Are these handmade / artisan?

We're straight about this: keefigures designs and curates the lineup, and our caps are produced by manufacturing partners and makers. Where a cap is genuinely hand-cast resin from an artisan, we'll say so and name the maker. We don't use "artisan," "hand-cast," or "limited" unless they're literally true for that product.

What's your return policy?

30 days. If a cap arrives damaged, defective, or wrong, email info@keefigures.com with a photo and we'll sort a replacement or refund. We'd rather make it right than argue over a keycap.

How do I install and remove a keycap?

To install, line the stem over the switch and press straight down. To remove, use a wire keycap puller — hook two opposite corners and pull straight up, with no twisting or prying with a screwdriver (that chips caps and bends switch stems).

How do I care for resin caps?

Wipe with a slightly damp microfibre cloth; a little dish soap for grime, then dry it off. Don't soak them, don't use solvents or alcohol, and keep them out of prolonged direct sunlight, which can yellow some resins over time.

Do you do wholesale or custom requests?

We're small and early, so not formally yet — but if you want several caps or a specific design, email info@keefigures.com and we'll tell you honestly whether we can do it.

Why do your products say "No reviews"?

Because we haven't earned them yet. We're new and we're not going to invent fake ones. Buy something, and if it's good, a real review helps the next person more than anything we could say about ourselves.
